An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter / Assembler with experience in hydraulics to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company in Cambridgeshire. This is a varied, hands-on role within a busy factory environment, working on a wide range of production and fabrication machinery.
This Mechanical Multi-skilled Assembler would work on various types of assembly and fitting to a high standard for equipment used in the processing industry.
Key Responsibilities- To assemble and fit all aspects of manufacturing components to a very high standard used to produce stainless steel processing equipment.
- Work within a team, either in the main production area or if applicable on a client's site.
- Be aware of all aspects including Health & Safety, Production, Inspection and Discipline.
- Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on training.
- Recognised engineering qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC or similar).
- Mechanical fitter / assembler experience within manufacturing, engineering or heavy industry.
- Experience in mechanical fitting/stripping and rebuilding.
- Experience in building air pneumatics.
- Experience in building and fitting bearing housings.
- Ability to read and have a good understanding of engineering drawings.
- Proficient with the use of various hand tools and mechanical equipment.
- Significant experience of building special purpose machinery.
- Experience in Hydraulics.
- Maintain good housekeeping/good order, motivation and discipline while working in the factory or on site.
- Uphold Health & Safety Risk assessments/Method statements.
- £16 per hour (approx. £32,000 salary) + Annual company performance bonus.
- Regular overtime available.
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 26 with service).
- Company pension.
- Life assurance.
- 39 hours per week:
- Monday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
- Tuesday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
- Wednesday & Thursday: 7:30am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am - 12:00pm (early finish)
