Job Purpose

We are looking for a Senior Client Executive to play an integral role in our agency. To help to develop and ensure the smooth and effective delivery of all projects (campaigns and/or capital markets communications programmes, to time and on brief). To be the eyes and ears of an account; managing and implementing all day to day tasks as requested. To secure relationships; internally, with clients and all stakeholders – start to be the trusted point of contact – have a view and use judgment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Client Activity
    • Understand each client’s business, brand, sector and personality.
    • Know the detail and current status on all major account projects to ensure optimum delivery and a proactive grasp of the account service required.
    • Understand each client’s business and brand priorities.
    • Start to be able to critique or defend work and ideas in relation to strategy with the guidance of Client Managers/Client Directors – have a view.
    • Understand the sectors in which our clients operate.
    • Use insight tools to monitor media and relevant industry comment and key competitor activity on a regular basis with the support of Client Executives.
    • Manage all day-to-day activity – e.g. client and media requests.
    • Develop relationships with clients and account teams; liaise directly with client/advisers as needed to build relationships and manage expectations.
    • Begin to consider, design and execute new initiatives and events as required – be creative.
    • Deliver promptly and accurately.
    • Be the hub of communication – circulate information in a timely manner, both internally and to clients.
    • Delight clients by doing something of value, unasked for - build client confidence.
    • Deliver a comprehensive client service.
    • Manage events, including roundtables, media events, results days and Capital Market days (as appropriate), with support from the Team Assistant / Client Executives and with guidance from Client Managers/Client Directors.
    • Research and write media releases.
    • Begin to provide comment and insight on draft releases and presentations with the guidance of the Client Manager/Client Director.
    • Start to think creatively about client programme alongside day to day implementation.
    • Always deliver the basics brilliantly.
    • Deliver work that is on time and on brief with all required set up and information - including any company-wide projects e.g. industry dinners.
    • Ensure all documentation and meetings you are tasked with are perfect.
    • Raise early warning flags as needed.
    • Build influence through results.
    • Responsible for the accurate and smooth issue of highly confidential press releases to the London Stock Exchange and distribute announcements to key audiences, including analysts and press, with the support of Client Executives.
    • Be a team player – take pride – be flexible – be organised – be responsible – be honest.
  • Media Activity
    • Have a good understanding of how key media including business and financial, key sector trade titles, online and broadcast media operate.
    • Start to develop and further media relations interaction and face to face meetings with journalists.
    • Set up media meetings/briefings for clients as required.
    • Ensure any key media activity is promptly communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
  • New Business Activity
    • Support new business efforts by participating in research, information gathering, and market intelligence used by the team to put pitch presentations together.
    • Support new business efforts by starting to think about new business opportunities both for own and client portfolio and potential new clients.
    • Assist in new business projects and take an active role in the pitch process as needed.
    • Begin to develop networking skills with guidance from Client Manager/Client Director to support Hudson Sandler’s interaction with key contacts within, though not exclusive to city audiences; industry advisors; relevant media and analysts; competitors; wider business community.
  • Strategic planning
    • Embed the use of insight tools, such as Cision and Brandwatch, in day-to-day client, media and new business activity.
    • Use insight tools to support effective desktop research.
    • Use insight tools for client and sector monitoring and new business research.
    • Able to write Boolean search strings in Brandwatch.
    • Able to organise and distribute research effectively.
    • Able to measure and report outcomes of earned media analytically.
    • Start to generate creative tactics to inform communications campaigns/programmes.
