Hudson River Trading is hiring a Market Structure Optimization Engineer for our new Market Structure Analytics team. In this role, you will employ data-driven methodologies to minimize friction in our real-time interactions with financial markets, optimizing our connection with trading venues. You will have the opportunity to make a direct impact through measurable improvements in HRT’s trading performance.
Responsibilities
- Analyze time series network and exchange protocol captures
- Familiarize yourself with specific markets, attend presentations, and liaise with exchange counterparts
- Research exchange features, capabilities, and architecture
- Automate the collection and visualization of metrics to assess exchange communication efficacy
- Design and conduct controlled experiments to measure the impact of changes to trading infrastructure
- Communicate ideas, requirements, and results across teams
- Improve the fill rate of our hardware-based trading strategies
- Reduce cancel-reject responses
- Investigate latency-sensitive exchanges and report findings
Skills
- Proficiency in data analytics, including statistics, visualization, and handling large datasets
- Basic understanding of TCP and UDP network protocols
- Experience with Python and data libraries like Pandas, Numpy/Scipy
- Familiarity with modern computer systems and networks
- Experience with real-time exchange market data and order entry is a plus
