An exciting opportunity for a PD Executive to join a London based independent production and brand licensing company, which specialises in family entertainment and manages a portfolio of much-loved children's brands. The company delivers high quality imaginative films, branded experiences and consumer products which delight children and family audiences internationally. The company has a portfolio of short films and animated children’s TV series with a brand new series due to launch later this year. Their established licensing programme has over 70 licensees globally, with key and expanding categories including plush, puzzles and games, apparel, gifting and visitor attractions.
The opportunity: As an integral part of the brand licensing team, you will report to the Product Development Manager and work closely to deliver the company’s consumer products programme. The role will include tasks in the following areas:
- Day to day account management of specific licensees
- Administrating online approvals system
- Cataloguing final products and distributing contractual samples
- Producing brand presentations and style direction resources
- Working with creative agencies to develop trend and style guides
- Creating and delivering licensee updates both electronically and in-person
- Working closely with the Commercial and Marketing teams to ensure smooth running of the licensing division
You will participate in regular team meetings, along with licensee and retailer meetings, both internally and externally. Following your induction, the role will include:
- Working with the Product Development Manager to develop and produce the company’s consumer products
- Managing designated licensees and agents through product development cycle from development of creative briefs to final execution and production
- Ensuring licensed merchandise and packaging resonates the brand values, adheres to brand guidelines and style guides
- Bringing new ideas to enhance product offering and provide a competitive edge in the market place
- Frequently tracking key trends, competitor activity and best practice activations
- Working with the Product Development Manager on strategic plans for product category development
- Managing and administrating online approvals system
- Organising and cataloguing final samples, organising product and lifestyle photography as required
- Working with the Brand Manager to create brand, licensee and workshop presentations
- Representing the company by delivering presentations at key licensing events such as tradeshows and licensee workshops
What type of person are we looking for? At least 18 months experience of working within Licensing in a product development role, or a closely related role in marketing, retail buying or branding. An understanding of brand Licensing, and knowledge of licensing protocols and language is helpful. Genuine passion and knowledge of kids brands and character/IP in the UK and internationally. Excellent organisation and communication skills, confident delivering presentations. Knowledge of market trends in licensing, the competitive landscape, and commercial awareness. Self-starter and problem solver. Brand focused with a creative eye and good attention to detail. Good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and design software (Photoshop, InDesign). Experience of using Mediabox or other online approval, asset management and contract management systems. An enthusiastic team player who enjoys being part of a close knit team, and can build relationships effectively with internal teams and external parties.
