An opportunity for an experienced social media lead to join a national travel & transport brand to head up their strategy for content with a focus on community-oriented and purpose-led stories and campaigns. Joining a multi award-winning team that is well-recognised across the business for producing stand-out social & integrated campaigns, there will be a combination of ‘business as usual’ content generation and a significant large-scale integrated campaign to deliver.

The purpose of the role is to promote positive brand sentiment on social media, using informed judgement on what will engage customers.

The opportunity

  • Lead the social content strategy for a well-known travel brand, managing a small team of three people across social media and their customer accessibility service.
  • This role will have responsibility for driving social media creative content forward within the business, developing and delivering social media content across business as usual content and integrated campaigns.
  • Ultimate responsibility for all social media content on organic channels, ensuring that all messages are on brand and delivering on strategy.
  • Support the team in spotting reactive opportunities to generate positive social media sentiment, and where possible positive media coverage.
  • Ensure the social media content strategy evolves according to the needs of the business and the changing behaviours of customers on social media.
  • Lead accessibility on social media, with the support of two execs, continuing to champion the importance of this and leading the industry in this area.
  • Manage the external social media agency and support the consumer PR agency.

This is a maternity cover contract for 9-12 months.

The role

  • Creating the social media content strategy, driving forward integrated (PR & Social) campaigns, working closely with the Head of Social Media Customer Service.
  • Managing the Social Media Content Executive, developing and mentoring them effectively.
  • Developing and driving social media campaigns, creating and owning the content calendar.
  • Producing engaging social content across multiple platforms, including copywriting, sourcing relevant assets and creating original content.
  • Strategic proposal writing and briefing their integrated agency.
  • Ongoing analysis to produce detailed monthly content performance reports and post-campaign reports primarily using Pulsar and Google Analytics.
  • Spotting opportunities to generate positive social media coverage and managing social media at events and initiatives.

About you

  • You’ll need to be well versed on all social media platforms, as the go-to expert in this area - a thorough understanding of the Social Media landscape and cultural trends is essential.
  • At least five years B2C social media experience, either agency side, managing social media campaigns; alternatively, in-house experience running regular social media campaigns managing an external agency.
  • Previous experience of creative ideation for consumer focused social / integrated campaigns.
  • Ideally a creative skillset in either copywriting, photography or videography.
  • A deep understanding of all social media tools and a proficient user of Google Analytics with the ability to produce detailed analytical reports.
  • Level headed and down to earth personality with a people-oriented approach to getting things done.
  • You will be self-motivated and a creative, strategic thinker, with a passion for communicating and collaborating with others.
