An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior DB Pension Administrator to join a growing and highly respected pensions consultancy during a period of continued growth and investment. This role would suit someone with strong Defined Benefit pensions administration experience who enjoys a varied role involving technical calculations, scheme oversight, mentoring junior team members and building strong client relationships.

There is also the opportunity to take ownership of a number of pension schemes, acting as a lead/go-to contact within the team and supporting wider project and operational work alongside BAU administration.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality administration services across a portfolio of Defined Benefit pension schemes while supporting both clients and members. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and administering Defined Benefit pension schemes
  • Performing and checking complex pension calculations
  • Interpreting scheme rules and pensions legislation
  • Handling member and third-party queries
  • Supporting and mentoring junior administrators
  • Acting as a lead contact across selected schemes
  • Supporting project work including scheme events, data exercises and process improvements
  • Preparing clear client and member communications
  • Supporting delivery against SLAs and team objectives
  • Building strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
About You

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

  • Minimum 3 years' Defined Benefit pensions administration experience
  • Strong technical DB pensions knowledge
  • Experience performing manual pension calculations
  • Ability to interpret scheme rules and pension legislation confidently
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage workloads across multiple schemes
  • Good Excel and administration systems knowledge
  • PMI qualification (or working towards) beneficial but not essential
