An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Defined Benefit pensions professional to take on a senior, client-facing role within a well-established pensions administration team. This position will involve taking the day-to-day lead on the administration of three large DB pension schemes, with a particular emphasis on client management, service delivery and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

The Role

  • Act as a key point of contact for three large Defined Benefit schemes, ensuring a high-quality administration service and supporting the effective management of client relationships.
  • Lead the day-to-day administration and service delivery for three large DB pension schemes.
  • Act as a principal point of contact for clients, trustees and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage client expectations, respond to queries and ensure agreed service standards are maintained.
  • Oversee complex DB administration matters, including retirements, deaths, transfers, calculations and scheme-specific processes.
  • Monitor workloads, priorities, deadlines and service performance across the schemes.
  • Support the resolution of escalated technical and administration issues.
  • Attend and contribute to client meetings, providing updates on service delivery and administration matters.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure a joined-up, proactive service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, client experience and operational efficiency.
  • Deputise for senior management when required, providing additional leadership and support across the team.

About You

We are looking for someone with substantial experience in Defined Benefit pensions administration who is ready to take ownership of significant client relationships and operate with a high degree of autonomy. You will ideally bring:

  • Extensive experience in DB pensions administration, including strong technical knowledge of complex schemes.
  • Previous experience in a senior administrator, team leader, client manager or similar role.
  • Confidence managing client relationships and communicating with trustees and senior stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of DB administration processes, legislation and service delivery requirements.
  • The ability to oversee multiple priorities and maintain high standards across large, complex schemes.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, commercially aware approach and the confidence to deputise for senior colleagues.
