Health Care Assistant role in a teaching & training practice with ~13,000 patients.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out primary health care assessments including urine testing, blood pressure, BMI and record history.
  • Assist with minor operations, wound dressings, coil fitting and home visits.
  • Support clinical sessions: keep rooms tidy, sterilise equipment, assist GPs and nurses.
  • Maintain drug refrigerator temperature, stock levels and cold chain.
  • Administer vaccines under PSD following training.
  • Provide clerical support: reception, phone, appointments, electronic records.
  • Participate in audits, QOF data entry and call‑recall systems.
  • Act as chaperone during consultations and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in a care setting, NHS or general public aiding.
  • NVQ Care Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Wound care knowledge and basic clinical skills.
  • Excellent keyboard skills, numerate, punctual and meticulous.
  • Adaptable, team‑working, motivated and can work with minimal supervision.
