Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Writer to create, review, and update technical documentation and user instructions for their end-users. This role is essential in helping users maximize their experience with its platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Manuals and User Guides

  1. Develop clear, organised instructional manuals for platform users.
  2. Create graphics and diagrams to illustrate system usage and functionality effectively.
  3. Adapt complex technical information to suit a range of audiences.

Standards, Processes, and Continuous Improvement

  1. Adhere to established style guides and documentation standards.
  2. Edit and update content to reflect improvements or changes in standards.
  3. Participate in platform testing phases to ensure documentation accuracy and clarity.
  4. Contribute to and recommend enhancements to documentation practices and processes.

Business Support

  1. Maintain and update the Business Management System, including processes and procedures.
  2. Support responses to RFPs and bid/tender submissions.
  3. Attend client-facing meetings to understand requirements and provide insights.

Key Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. 2-5+ years of software technical writing experience.
  3. Strong proofreading and copy-editing skills.
  4. Proven ability to translate technical concepts into accessible language.
  5. Exceptional written communication.
  6. Proficiency in tools like RoboHelp, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.

Bonus Skills:

  1. Additional language proficiency (German, Dutch, or Japanese).
  2. Experience with graphic programs such as Visio, Fireworks, or Photoshop.
  3. Exposure to Agile or SCRUM environments.
  4. Knowledge of managing translation projects.
