Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Writer to create, review, and update technical documentation and user instructions for their end-users. This role is essential in helping users maximize their experience with its platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Manuals and User Guides
- Develop clear, organised instructional manuals for platform users.
- Create graphics and diagrams to illustrate system usage and functionality effectively.
- Adapt complex technical information to suit a range of audiences.
Standards, Processes, and Continuous Improvement
- Adhere to established style guides and documentation standards.
- Edit and update content to reflect improvements or changes in standards.
- Participate in platform testing phases to ensure documentation accuracy and clarity.
- Contribute to and recommend enhancements to documentation practices and processes.
Business Support
- Maintain and update the Business Management System, including processes and procedures.
- Support responses to RFPs and bid/tender submissions.
- Attend client-facing meetings to understand requirements and provide insights.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2-5+ years of software technical writing experience.
- Strong proofreading and copy-editing skills.
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts into accessible language.
- Exceptional written communication.
- Proficiency in tools like RoboHelp, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
Bonus Skills:
- Additional language proficiency (German, Dutch, or Japanese).
- Experience with graphic programs such as Visio, Fireworks, or Photoshop.
- Exposure to Agile or SCRUM environments.
- Knowledge of managing translation projects.
