About The Role
This Principal Product Designer (PPD) will lead the design of early-stage, high-impact concepts that will shape the future of the Marketing Hub roadmap. The role will focus on concept prototyping, collaborating closely with PM and Engineering partners to develop proof-of-concept experiences and inspire long-term product strategy.
This role demands strong capabilities in AI design paradigms and interaction design and a commitment to delivering world-class user experiences. You’ll help create a new product methodology that empowers marketers in modern, intelligent ways.
We\’re open to candidates in Ireland or the UK, and you\’re welcome to work in office, hybrid or remote from these locations.
What You’ll Do
- Lead complex design challenges: Tackle broad, ambiguous problems, delivering solutions that meet user needs and Hubspot’s long term goals.
- Drive Product Vision: Partner with PM and Engineering to define and evolve the product and design vision for a new marketing platform.
- Lead Concept Prototyping: Explore and visualize bold ideas using interactive, high-fidelity prototypes to communicate potential product directions.
- AI-Centered Design: Create seamless experiences that incorporate generative and assistive AI in both B2B and B2C contexts, with a focus on value and usability.
- Conduct Validation Research with UXR partners: Design and execute generative and evaluative research to validate concepts with real users.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a connective force between product, engineering, and executive leadership to align design direction with business strategy.
- Contribute to Design Systems: Ensure designs are scalable, consistent, and contribute to the evolution of HubSpot’s design system.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Support other designers by sharing knowledge, feedback, and guidance to raise the quality of design across the team.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience designing 0-1 products or net-new systems within fast-moving organizations.
- Proven experience designing AI-based interactions and workflows.
- Deep interaction design expertise, with strong visual design skills and a track record of turning complexity into clarity.
- Strong prototyping skills in tools like Figma, Framer, or custom-coded environments.
- Knowledge of marketing workflows, tools, and user personas—especially in the B2B space.
- Fluency in user-centered design principles and validation research techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly present complex ideas.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a mindset focused on experimentation and iteration.
