The Product Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and analysing product integration solutions to ensure high-quality products are manufactured in line with the operations strategy for new product, material, and process introduction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop robust test solutions for verification and validation of product performance to meet specified requirements.
  • Assist new product developments from design to manufacture, supporting the transfer to manufacturing of the assembly and test processes for switches.
  • Collaborate with engineers from a multi-disciplinary team to create tools that improve test coverage and team efficiency.
  • Create test equipment to support verification testing and production testing, including electro-optical testing, analysis of results, and report writing.
  • Develop hardware and software solutions to deliver test solutions within a given budget and timescale.
  • Define procedures and test tools for de-skilling of complex processes.
  • Specify testing requirements for new designs going into volume manufacture.
  • Support the evaluation and introduction to manufacturing of cost savings and improvements to supply chain security, including standardisation.
  • Write procurement specifications for third-party companies to produce ATE, bed-of-nail fixtures and other bespoke test platforms.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering subject or physics.
  • 3‑5 years of industry experience.
  • Strong test background and competence in fault‑finding complex integration systems and subsystems.
  • Methodical and structured problem‑solving approach.
  • Experience in verification, test design, process development and transfer into manufacturing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with multi‑disciplined engineers and managers.
  • Organised, independent and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to get work done.
  • Commitment to quality and on‑time delivery.
  • Willingness to travel to volume manufacturing sites when required.
