As the Electronics Design Manager you will have expertise in managing teams of functional focused engineers to support electronics designs through the whole of the product lifecycle and be comfortable working in, and managing, a talented multidisciplinary team, developing new products and processes from concepts to realisation. You will have an active role in developing new design approaches, methodologies and defining technology roadmaps within the electronics design team. The team is responsible for Analogue, Digital and Firmware development on the hardware platforms to support advanced feature sets required by the market. In addition, the team supports the creation of custom test and process electronics to enable efficient production of Polatis products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team of electronics design engineers to deliver robust, high-quality, cost-effective architecture and design solutions.
  • Design ownership for all electronic aspects of the Polatis products, and delivery into high volume reliable products.
  • Manage teams in a cross functional team agile manner to deliver hardware design from concept through to successful delivery of product into manufacturing.
  • Implement DFM, DFT as needed to ensure a robust supply chain and manufacturing process.
  • Ensure adherence to the relevant Quality systems and Engineering processes.
  • Ensure all designs are documented and released as per the defined processes.
  • Strong Digital design skills including modern communications for robust scalable intra circuit designs.
  • Fluent in current technologies, design methodologies and advanced simulation/modelling techniques.
  • In depth knowledge of control systems and real time control loops.
  • Experience managing complex PCB designs using a mixture of analogue and digital electronics.
  • Experience managing designs with FPGA, DSP, and embedded processor systems.
  • Requirements management – eliciting requirements from key stakeholders, driving requirement flow-down and justification, managing requirements change.
  • Architecture definition and assessment – work with design leads to develop system and sub-system architectures to meet market requirements, derive sub-system requirements, interfaces and constraints, carry out system functional and behavioural studies.
