This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the creation of world-class products used across the communications, defence, space, and transportation industries.

As a Quality Technician, you will play a key part in ensuring our precision-engineered products meet the highest standards. Your work will support product realisation from concept through to prototype, NPI, and full production helping Polatis deliver high-quality, reliable solutions aligned with customer expectations and manufacturing schedules.

This hands-on role involves:

  • Assembly, testing, inspection of micro-components
  • Analysing incoming material quality
  • Troubleshooting equipment or product issues
  • Supporting engineers in developing new products and processes
  • Creating manufacturing standards and documentation that drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction

Your day-to-day work may include:

  • Testing products or subassemblies to ensure function and quality
  • Identifying and troubleshooting problems with equipment, devices, or materials
  • Preparing and assembling materials according to manufacturing practices
  • Setting up and operating test equipment and precision measurement tools (e.g., callipers, micrometres, gauges)
  • Inspecting electronic and mechanical components for quality and adherence to specifications
  • Assisting Engineers with prototypes, new product development, and process improvements
  • Recording and analysing data related to equipment, processes, or product quality
  • Maintaining accurate logs, quality reports, batch records, and documentation
  • Creating or updating Standard Work Instructions
  • Participating in planning and scheduling to meet on-time delivery targets
  • Managing waste and maintaining 5S standards within your work area
  • Communicating effectively with peers, engineers, and cross-functional teams
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies

About You: We are looking for someone who can bring both technical capability and a proactive attitude to our team. You should have:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to Health & Safety
  • Demonstrable practical skills in a technical or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to understand and follow processes, with confidence to implement them
  • Ability to interpret engineering proposals and liaise with other disciplines
  • Experience following and creating work instructions
  • Confidence to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • A positive team approach, with the ability to suggest improvements for quality, yield, or process time
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or MES systems for data entry
