We are now looking to fill this position and for the right candidate to be based in and around Bristol, Swindon and Bath or in a commutable distance to Chippenham. HUBER Technology is an ‘Investors in People’ Gold company which specialises in environmental engineering throughout the world, with a UK operation based in Chippenham focused on delivering wastewater treatment solutions for the UK water industry.
Reporting to the Regional Field Manager, the right candidate will be part of a small team responsible for servicing, installation, and troubleshooting of HUBER machinery. The role requires a skilled, experienced Mechanical Fitter/Technician, used to working from Mechanical engineering drawings, ideally from a site M & E, plant maintenance, or metal fabrication background. This role involves predominantly site work, and a company van will be provided for travel (shared with a colleague). Travel includes the southern parts of the UK, Wales, and around London. From time to time, you may be required to work in other parts of the country.
Your core responsibilities are as follows:
- Carry out site visits to undertake inspections or mechanical service/fitting work.
- Ensure site work is carried out to a satisfactory standard and address issues immediately and professionally.
- Manage relationships with clients on site.
- Create site reports upon completion of work.
- Maximise time on site by liaising with the Regional Field Manager and colleagues to resolve technical or site issues.
- Work closely with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Participate actively in site work and job preparation, enjoying the hands-on aspect of the role.
Your profile:
- Completed an apprentice scheme or hold a minimum Level 2 NVQ in an Engineering discipline, with at least four years’ experience.
- Enjoy working with diverse people and confident in building relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Have previous on-site experience or strong aspirations to move into a field-based role.
- Possess TIG welding experience, with the ability to weld.
- Be conversant with Microsoft Office.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
Additionally, you should have a flexible attitude, be self-motivated, customer-focused, team-oriented, reliable, with strong problem-solving skills, ownership, and initiative. A clean driving license and willingness to travel are vital for this role.
