We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our small, friendly finance team within a successful and growing SaaS business. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys doing things properly, takes pride in accuracy, and likes being part of a collaborative team. It’s a hands‑on role where your experience will be genuinely valued, and where you can make a meaningful contribution without needing to be focused on a highly career‑driven environment. Reporting to the Head of Finance and working closely with the Management Accountant, you will help keep day‑to‑day finance operations running smoothly, support reporting processes, and bring structure and consistency as the business continues to grow internationally. If you are someone who enjoys ownership of your work, solving problems, improving processes, and being relied upon as a safe pair of hands, this could be an excellent fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing multiple bank accounts (GBP, USD and EUR), reviewing payments and receipts, matching transactions to invoices and bills, and creating entries where needed.
- Reconciling bank accounts each month and ensuring balances are accurate and up to date.
- Handling Accounts Payable, including processing supplier invoices, checking approvals, preparing weekly payment runs, and reconciling supplier statements.
- Uploading and reviewing monthly Pleo expenses, ensuring receipts and supporting documentation are complete.
- Supporting Accounts Receivable, including assisting with invoicing, issuing statements, following up on overdue balances, and resolving client queries.
- Liaising with internal teams to manage account issues, potential non‑payers, and general finance administration.
- Helping improve finance processes and maintaining strong day‑to‑day controls.
Experience That Fits This Role
- Strong finance systems experience. Xero experience is preferred, though we’re equally happy to speak with candidates who have worked across multiple systems and can learn new platforms quickly.
- Previous experience managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
- Comfortable working with multi‑currency transactions and/or group entities.
- Experience within a start‑up / scale‑up tech business would be an advantage, but more important is a proven ability to work within a fast‑paced environment.
- Good working knowledge of Excel / Google Workspace and finance systems.
- Organised, dependable, and detail‑focused, with the ability to manage priorities calmly and efficiently.
- Clear communicator who enjoys being helpful, practical, and part of a supportive team.
What’s in it for you?
- 25 days holiday per calendar year (pro rata) plus the usual public holidays, and you then get an extra day for every year you work at HubBox up to 30 days.
- Enhanced Paid Parental Leave.
- Pension contribution on qualifying earnings.
- A great space to work – our Old Street office is more than just a desk. It’s a buzzing, well‑designed hub for collaboration, creativity, and a bit of fun, all just a short walk from several tube stations.
