At HUB Build, we deliver specialist fit-out solutions across the museum, heritage, cultural, luxury hospitality and high-end residential sectors.
Renowned for our craftsmanship, attention to detail and ability to deliver complex and bespoke environments, we work with leading architects, designers and clients to bring ambitious spaces to life.
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our pre-construction team, based from our Redditch office.
The Role
Reporting to the Estimating Director, you will play an important role within our pre-construction team, preparing accurate, competitive and commercially sound cost estimates for complex fit-out and interior construction projects.
Working closely with clients, designers, consultants, suppliers, specialist subcontractors and our internal project teams, you will support the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission.
You will combine strong numerical and commercial skills with a good technical understanding of construction, ensuring our proposals reflect both the requirements of the project and the quality and craftsmanship expected of HUB Build.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for specialist fit-out and interior projects.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and design information to establish project scope and develop accurate costs.
- Measuring and pricing works in accordance with project requirements and agreed estimating procedures.
- Analysing construction methods, materials, programme requirements and procurement routes when preparing estimates.
- Obtaining, analysing and comparing quotations from specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identifying scope gaps, commercial risks, exclusions, assumptions and pricing opportunities within tender information.
- Preparing pricing breakdowns, tender summaries, clarifications and supporting documentation.
- Supporting value engineering and cost optimisation while protecting design intent and quality.
- Liaising with clients, designers, consultants and the supply chain to resolve pricing and tender queries.
- Participating in pre-tender meetings, site visits, design reviews and tender clarification meetings where required.
- Maintaining knowledge of market rates, materials, labour and specialist trades.
- Supporting tender reviews, cost planning and commercial analysis.
- Maintaining accurate estimating records, cost information and benchmarking data.
- Supporting the effective handover of successful tenders from pre-construction into project delivery.
About You
You will be an experienced Estimator with a background in construction, specialist fit-out, interiors or a related sector and a strong understanding of how complex, high-quality projects are priced and procured.
You will be comfortable interpreting detailed technical information, engaging with specialist subcontractors and suppliers, and managing multiple tender requirements and deadlines.
Experience within museum, exhibition, heritage, cultural, luxury hospitality, high-end residential or similarly complex and bespoke interior environments would be particularly valuable.
You Will Bring
- Proven experience as an Estimator within construction, specialist fit-out, interiors or a related sector.
- Experience pricing interior, architectural or high-quality fit-out projects.
- A good understanding of construction methods, materials, labour and procurement routes.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, schedules and other project information.
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Good commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
- Experience obtaining, analysing and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- The ability to identify scope gaps, risks and pricing opportunities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines effectively.
- A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
Experience of specialist trades, bespoke manufacture, complex finishes and materials, together with a relevant construction, quantity surveying, estimating or commercial qualification, would be advantageous.
What You’ll Bring to HUB Build

You will take pride in producing accurate, well-considered work, combining commercial judgement with an appreciation of quality, craftsmanship and design intent.
Collaborative and approachable, you will be comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams and building strong relationships with our supply chain, consultants and clients.
