Job Summary

Working as part of the Huawei Positioning & Navigation Team covers a wide spectrum of empirical computer science and R&D prototyping. This team is mainly responsible for indoor navigational and geospatial solution engineering with the aim to improve the user experience of Huawei devices.

We are looking to recruit students from various backgrounds like Computer Science/Informatics/Mathematics, Engineering, or Natural Sciences. All candidates with strong interest in signal processing, RF systems, or IoT development are encouraged to apply and welcomed to sharpen their R&D skills with us.

Key Responsibilities:

This job description is only an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role. The jobholder will carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required by his/her line manager. The job description and personal specification may be reviewed on an ongoing basis in accordance with the changing needs of Huawei Research and Development UK Limited.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in at least one of the following fields:
    • Signal Processing/Algorithm Development
    • Data Regression/Fusion/Augmentation
    • Machine Learning/Deep Learning/Large Language Models
    • Indoor Navigation/Map-Based Applications
    • Design/Evaluation of Embedded RF Systems
    • Firmware Development for IoT Devices
  • Reasonable programming skills in at least one of Java, Python, Julia, C, C++, Rust
  • Ability to discuss, evaluate, and integrate algorithms developed by other team members
  • Willingness to build, setup, and evaluate R&D prototypes (soft and/or hardware driven)
  • Enrollment in relevant post-graduate programmes like Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar
  • Be able to work minimum for 3 months, 20 hours per week
