We design and manufacture automated robotic instruments and supply products into medical and research laboratories all over the world. The company is based in West Sussex and is currently seeking a mechanical fitter to work as part of the production team. Our products are installed in some of the leading clinical diagnostic laboratories around the world so the quality of assembly work performed is critical in maintaining accurate and reliable results for a range of critical diagnostic tests.
Key responsibilities and activities:
- To join a small manufacturing team that builds up complete instruments from a variety of components.
- To work as a mechanical fitter assembling a variety of components and sub-assemblies for our range of robotic laboratory equipment.
- To work closely with our design and service engineers to ensure quality of product is maintained and to provide feedback on any improvements in design or build procedures as required.
Essential qualifications:
- Be fully conversant and experienced in the use of hand tools.
- Have experience of mechanical assembly work.
- Be self-motivated, conscientious and have a responsible attitude.
- Enjoy working in a small, hard working, team environment.
Desirable qualifications:
- Have experience of working to the high standards as expected of an ISO 9001 registered company.
- Be able to read assembly drawings and work from manufacturing procedures.
- Have wiring and electro-mechanical assembly experience.
- Have soldering experience.
Package:
- Competitive salary dependent on experience (25k to 30k).
- Up to 25 days company holiday per annum.
- 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8am - 3.30pm Friday (Optional flexi-time to leave at 1pm Friday).
