A great opportunity has arisen at The Mill Bay / The Plaice To Be in Ventnor, for an Apprentice Production Chef. This is an ideal position for someone who is leaving school or college, and wants to form a career in professional cookery. The Mill Bay / The Plaice To Be is a warm and welcoming pub and restaurant on the seafront in Ventnor, with a good selection of drinks and a menu of home-cooked food.

As an apprentice Production Chef, you will take on a full-time role in the kitchen under the supervision of passionate chefs alongside your training. The successful applicant will be undertaking the Production Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship with HTP Apprenticeship College.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing vegetables, meats and fish
  • Providing food preparation and high standards of cooking to meet regulatory and legislative requirements around food hygiene and dietary requirements and presentation
  • Assisting the other chefs
  • Assisting with stock rotation and cleaning stations
  • Helping with deliveries and re-stocking
  • Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards

  • None – We are just looking for someone with passion, personality and a desire to learn and progress within professional cookery. Enthusiasm is a must!

Hours:
