This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a very well established engineering company based in Cowes. Established in early 1980's, they are the largest fabrication, welding and precision engineering company on the Island who work with a multitude of high profile clients. This is a varied and interesting role where you have the opportunity to grow your skills and experience. This role encompasses the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 2:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing administrative support to the office and wider business.
- Acting as a professional first point of contact for customers and suppliers.
- Managing incoming telephone calls and email enquiries.
- Preparing, formatting and maintaining business documents and records.
- Updating company databases, spreadsheets and filing systems.
- Assisting with project administration and document control.
- Supporting procurement activities and supplier communications.
- Assisting with invoice processing and general accounts administration.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring documentation is up to date.
- Supporting compliance, quality and health & safety administration.
- Undertaking general office duties as required.
Candidate Requirements:
- Organised, reliable and professional.
- A confident communicator with good written and verbal skills.
- Comfortable working with a range of computer systems and software packages.
- Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Accurate with a strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and willing to take responsibility for their work.
- Keen to develop a long-term career within a professional business environment.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- A-levels, BTEC qualifications or previous workplace experience would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality or administration would be beneficial but is not essential.
