You will join us as an Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA), delivering safe, reliable and friendly transport to vulnerable patients. The role involves driving, patient care, and supporting mobility and communication. Standard hours are typically 37.5 hours per week. It is a shift‑based role covering early mornings, evenings, late and night shifts, which can fall on any day across a 7‑day week, including weekends and public holidays. Shifts vary, so flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive patients to and from healthcare appointments while providing reassurance, support and compassionate care throughout their journey.
  • Assist patients with mobility needs, including safe lifting, use of specialist equipment, and transferring patients to and from vehicles or their homes.
  • Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families and healthcare staff, maintaining dignity, respect and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic administration, keeping equipment clean and ready in line with Infection Prevention and Control procedures, and documenting any incidents and journey details as required.
