What Can You Expect?
We are recruiting for a proactive and tenacious Assistant Station Manager (ASM) who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ASM will report into the Station Manager and provide on the ground support to enable the Bournemouth Base to be successful in meeting KPI’s, delivering an excellent service for our patients, and providing the right support for our hard-working crews.
No two days will be the same. You might be processing timesheets one day and headed out to assist with the return of a broken-down vehicle the next day. You could be running CQC audits for the base in the morning and assisting with a complex lift in the afternoon. The role is moveable depending on the pressures of the contract, and you will be agile in reacting to those pressures.
If you have experience of working in this type of environment, and you enjoy a challenge, this could be the right role for you. You would be joining us on a full-time, permanent basis - working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Summary Of Main Duties Include:
- Support Station Manager with ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of services ensuring a focus on service improvement.
- Provide managerial cover while Station Manager is absent from work or on leave.
- Provide support with ongoing performance management of staff, including:
- Empowering staff to comply with all relevant procedures and providing additional guidance where necessary.
- Motivating staff to carry out vehicle checks, and vehicle cleans.
- Ensure that staff are keeping up to date with all requirements on FSGB (Fleet management app).
- Assist with investigations into allegations of misconduct.
- Assist with absence management.
- Supporting with probation reviews.
- Ensure that communication is shared amongst crews where needed.
- Ensure the building is clean, tidy, organised, compliant, and fully stocked.
- Utilise vehicle management tools to book in MOT’s and services for Company Fleet.
- Any other request as reasonably assigned by the Station Manager.

We are Looking for Great People Who:
- Previous team leader/supervisory experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to plan, prioritise and organise effectively.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines and respond to unplanned situations.
- Previous experience working with a variety of management apps, and office 365 (Word, Excel etc).
- Excellent communicator.
- Organised with excellent administrative skills and attention to detail.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of company policies and procedures.
