Imports Manager required for a FMCG and Ingredients firm. This company imports goods into the UK and you will be responsible for the smooth running of the goods being imported. The company uses a customs brokerage firm, and this role will check all the paperwork is correct. It is an internal freight forwarder role.
The role involves ensuring all the goods being imported have the correct documents in place in time for the ships docking at the ports. They import food items (including meat) from Europe into the UK. You will work directly for the company to ensure everything runs smoothly within the UK part of the operation. They own the farms in Europe and are importing their own produce into the UK for sale here.
With many of the items being meat products, the documents and customs clearance are critical to get correct. This role will include all the normal duties of an Imports Manager and is ideal for a freight forwarder looking for an imports role.
Experience:We are looking for an Imports Manager from a freight forwarding background, with knowledge of food imports and customs clearance. Another company does the customs clearance paperwork; you just need to read it to ensure it is correct. This role is perfect for a freight forwarder looking for an internal role working directly for the company that produces the produce in Europe (you will manage the UK side of the import operation).
Location:Hybrid/remote based but you will do some visits to the docks to check the produce is imported correctly and check the assignments landing.
