Our Croydon depot is looking for a Vehicle Technician to work a permanent late shift. £2000 Signing Bonus (direct applicants only).
Here at DAF, you’ll make sure that the best trucks are back on the road as fast as possible when they require maintenance. You’ll use the most advanced workshop systems on trucks with state‑of‑the‑art technology. If you enjoy taking on responsibility, then we’ll give you the freedom to perform diagnostics and to decide how to carry out maintenance and repairs on trucks. You’ll be part of a great team with friendly colleagues.
This is what you’ll be doing:
- You will be responsible for fast and accurate diagnoses using diagnostic tools and for choosing the right repair techniques.
- You will work independently to maintain and repair DAF vehicles and components.
- You will carry out a range of inspections (MOT, tacho, etc.).
- You will provide support and daily mentoring for less experienced technicians.
- You will carry out final checks on work that has been completed.
This is what we’re looking for:
- A completed secondary vocational education.
- A broad vehicle‑related technical knowledge, preferably of DAF products.
- An extensive experience in carrying out repairs and maintenance on trucks, components and associated vehicles.
- Familiarisation with developments in the automotive industry.
You will be required to provide your own tool‑kit and be in possession of a valid driving licence (preferably HGV but not essential).
