We are looking for an enthusiastic Accountant's Assistant to support our finance operations across SPTC and SMC. Working closely with the SMC Head of Finance, you'll help keep our financial systems running smoothly, supporting a mission that reaches and transforms lives. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated, faith-centred team where your work genuinely matters.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly reporting cycles, including reconciliations, controls, and accurate posting of transactions.
- Process invoices, staff expenses, credit cards, and student income, ensuring correct coding and timely recording.
- Assist with budgeting, year-end statutory accounts, and maintaining strong financial controls and governance.
- Complete monthly bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and maintaining organised records in SharePoint.
- Provide cross-team support on ad hoc finance/operations projects, contribute to financial awareness across the organisation, and participate in staff and team meetings (including occasional prayer/Bible study leadership).
Requirements
- Part qualified accountant and/or extensive finance department and accounting experience.
- Well organised and confident with numbers.
- Word, Excel and Outlook experience.
- Aptitude for learning new systems, processes and digital tools.
- Commitment to the vision and aims of the organisation.
