HTB is looking for a Digital Storyteller to help capture and share the life, faith and mission of our church through compelling video content on Instagram and YouTube. This is a hands-on, video‑first role for someone with strong creative instincts, a great feel for social media, and a heart for the local church. You’ll be filming, editing, scripting and publishing content that brings the stories of HTB to life from Sunday services and Alpha to events, campaigns and everyday moments.

Working closely with the MarComms Manager and Creative Producer, you’ll play a key role in delivering HTB’s wider communications strategy, while also supporting the Media team through volunteer coordination and general operational support.

What you’ll be doing

  • Create high-quality short‑form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
  • Film and edit across services, Alpha, events, campaigns and church life, with a strong instinct for story and timing.
  • Script, storyboard and produce planned video content in line with campaign briefs.
  • Publish and schedule content across platforms, ensuring it’s timely, on‑brand and optimised.
  • Stay on top of social media trends, formats and platform changes, bringing fresh ideas to the team.
  • Contribute to HTB’s social media content calendar and help maintain a consistent online presence.
  • Capture photography at services and events for social media, email and wider communications.
  • Carry out basic photo editing and asset preparation.
  • Monitor content performance across platforms and share insights with the MarComms Manager.
  • Use analytics to inform and improve future content.
  • Support the coordination of the Media Volunteer Team, including scheduling and on-the-day support.
  • Help onboard and train new volunteers.
  • Assist with team events, training days and general administration.
  • Support the Media team across key moments in the church calendar, including Leadership Conference, Focus, Alpha, Christmas and Easter.
  • Contribute to a positive, servant‑hearted team culture.
  • Engage actively in the life of HTB Church, building relationships across the congregation and ministry teams.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years’ experience in video production, content creation or a similar creative role.
  • Proven ability to film and edit short-form video content to a high standard, with a portfolio or examples of work.
  • Strong working knowledge of Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts – including what makes content perform well on each platform.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve or equivalent).
  • A creative eye and genuine instinct for visual storytelling.
