Description
We are looking for a talented and motivated Junior Legal Counsel to join our Legal Services team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified lawyer, or a lawyer in the earlier stages of their legal career, who is looking to develop broad in-house experience within a charitable organisation.
As Junior Legal Counsel, you will support the Legal Services team in providing advice, guidance and project support across the HTB Group.
You'll work closely with the Group General Counsel, legal colleagues, ministry leaders and operational teams, gaining exposure to a wide range of legal matters while helping to enable the organisation's mission and strategic priorities.

Sunday 30th August . The salary range for this position is between £40,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
Some of the key responsibilities include
- Conducting legal research on a variety of issues affecting the organisation.
- Drafting legal advice, guidance notes, briefings, policies and supporting documents.
- Reviewing and advising on contracts and commercial agreements.
- Supporting compliance and policy initiatives across the organisation.
- Assisting the Group General Counsel and Director of Legal Services on legal projects and workstreams.
- Managing routine and lower-risk legal matters with appropriate supervision.
- Providing practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Helping to develop legal knowledge and best practice across teams.
- Building effective relationships with external legal advisers where required.
- Maintaining and developing your legal knowledge and professional competencies.
Requirements
- The following skills and experience form the minimum requirements for the role:
- Fully qualified lawyer authorised to practice in England & Wales.
- Excellent understanding and experience of commercial issues, with ability to provide pragmatic solutions, with working knowledge of applying data protection (primarily GDPR) legislation in a contracts and events context.
- Excellent contract drafting and reviews, attention to detail and communication skills.
- Flexibility to provide legal advice in new contexts, interest in learning, and using transferable legal skills.
- Strong working knowledge of data protection regime in UK.
- Commercial outlook.
- Ability to train and advise staff from liaising departments on legal aspects of their projects, where possible seeking improvement in team’s approach to legal work.
- Gravitas to work effectively with staff at all levels and the ability to develop strong working relationships with departmental teams.
- Team player with initiative, ability to prioritise, and problem-solving attitude in a complex and dynamic context.
