Description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to support financial operations across HTB, Alpha International, and St Luke's.

This varied role combines financial reporting, VAT management, budgeting, forecasting, grant stewardship, and project-based finance support, helping ensure strong financial controls and effective stewardship of resources across our ministries.

Some of the key responsibilities include

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, year-end accounts, and annual financial reviews.
  • Prepare financial reports for PCC, ACC, the Diocese, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyse giving trends and provide forecasting insights.
  • Support grant applications, heritage fund reporting, and CAPEX planning.
  • Assist with finance projects and ad hoc reporting.
  • VAT Management (25%)
  • Lead VAT preparation, reconciliations, journal processing, and quarterly submissions.
  • Liaise with external VAT advisers (Crowe) and internal finance teams.
  • Review processes to ensure VAT compliance across the organisation.
  • Prepare data and reports required for VAT returns and audits.
  • Alpha International (30%)
  • Support regional budgeting, forecasting, grant management, and financial reporting.
  • Strengthen financial controls, processes, and accountability across regions.
  • Partner with regional finance and fundraising teams to provide financial insight and analysis.
  • Support Charity Commission returns, Form 990 reporting, and other regulatory submissions.
  • Drive improvements to financial systems, budget management, and stewardship practices.
  • St Luke’s (15%)
  • Reconcile accounts and oversee transactions between HTB and St Luke's.
  • Prepare month-end and year-end accounts, forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Review and approve payments and liaise with external accountants and auditors.

Requirements

  • The following skills and experience are essential to have for the role:
  • 5 years' experience of financial processing, reporting and reconciliation
  • Qualified accountant at AAT level 4 or above, or relevant degree in charity management.
  • Require basic understanding of VAT principles (input, output, reverse charge) and intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent eye for detail and highly organised.
  • Previous experience working with a fundraising database.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Experience of financial processing, reporting and reconciliation.
