Overview
We’re looking for a friendly, energetic Barista to join our team at Bloom Café. You’ll be passionate about coffee, great customer service, and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for every customer.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
- Take customer orders and prepare coffee and espresso-based drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos.
- Serve baked goods, snacks, and other menu items as requested by customers.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, including coffee machines, countertops, and the café area.
- Ensure the proper handling of cash and credit transactions, and provide accurate change when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure high-quality service.
- Assist in restocking and organising inventory, including coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, making recommendations, and resolving concerns in a professional manner.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, or food service environment is a plus but not required.
- Passion for coffee and customer service.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change.
- Ability to work as part of a team and support a positive work environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
