Welding Instructor / Welding Trainer - MIG & TIG

Previous teaching, training or assessing experience is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and support the Level 3 Plate Welder Apprenticeship Standard.
- Provide a professional and engaging onboarding experience for new apprentices.
- Teach a range of welding and fabrication techniques, with a focus on safe working practices.
- Assess apprentice performance and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Support apprentices throughout their learning journey, helping them build confidence and technical competence.
- Maintain training equipment and workshop facilities to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
- Promote a positive learning culture that encourages excellence and continuous development.
About You
We're looking for someone with excellent practical welding experience who enjoys coaching and developing others.
You'll have:
- Strong hands-on experience in MIG and TIG welding.
- A solid background in fabrication and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- The ability to motivate, coach and support apprentices of varying abilities.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to work independently and use your own initiative.
- A genuine passion for developing the next generation of engineers.
Please note: An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. The cost will be covered by WEC Group.
Hours of work:37.5 hours per week
Monday - Thursday:7:30am - 4:00pm
Friday:7:30am - 1:00pm
Work Location: In person
