VACANCY: Design Engineer (FTC 3 MONTHS)
SHIFT: Monday – Friday 7/8am – 4/5pm

ABOUT US: MTL Advanced is hiring due to a major expansion, marked by the opening of our brand-new manufacturing facility, based in Rotherham just 5 minutes away from Meadowhall shopping centre. MTL Advanced is operating from an impressive 390,000 sq. feet facility. We are a leading engineering and manufacturing company committed to innovation, quality and growth. As we continue to scale our capabilities, we are expanding our team and inviting skilled individuals to join us on our journey. We have invested in an extensive range of technology and equipment and provide services to a range of OEM’s from leading industries including defence, security, construction, quarrying, recycling and rail. Our in-house capabilities include large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Jig and fixture detailing using CAD systems (2D and 3D) using Autodesk Inventor
- Plan manufacturing routings
- Procurement of engineering parts
- Liaise with other departments to give support and information i.e. NPI type activities
- To develop and implement factory lay-out improvements or new lay-out proposals in conjunction with the Senior Manufacturing Engineer
- To carry out process analysis, review, development and implementation of improvement plans
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques/methods
ABOUT YOU:
- UK citizenship or UK SC clearance.
- Experience of designing fixtures for fabrication.
- Design software working desirable to be trained on Inventor.
- Experience using CAD systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
