Data Engineer, you’ll play a key part in keeping things moving for our customers, suppliers and The Pros around you.
You’ll take ownership, solve problems properly, and work with people across the business to make things simpler, faster and better.
You’ll be trusted to get stuck in, make decisions, and see things through.
What you’ll be doing
You'll join our growing Data team, working at the heart of our Technology and Finance functions to deliver the data platforms and reporting that support critical business decisions.
This is an exciting opportunity to join us on an initial 6-month fixed term contract, supporting major finance transformation projects, with the potential for future opportunities as our data function continues to grow.
As our Data Engineer, you'll build and maintain the data pipelines, integrations and reporting solutions that power decision-making across the business.
Working closely with Finance, Analytics and Technology teams, you'll help ensure our data is reliable, scalable and ready to support the next stage of our growth.
- Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS and Apache Airflow
- Develop and optimise SQL across T-SQL and Postgre SQL
- Support and administer SQL Server platforms including SSRS, SSMS and SSAS
- Build Power BI semantic models and DAX measures to support business reporting
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our finance data warehouse and data lake architecture
- Develop automation using Python and Power Shell
- Work with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure and Microsoft Fabric
- Support integrations with ERP and finance systems, including Net Suite
- Work closely with Finance analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver robust data solutions
- Explore emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve finance data processes
- Collaborate with colleagues across Technology, Finance and the wider business to deliver high-quality data solutions
- What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who knows how to get things done and works well with others to make it happen.
You don’t need to tick every single box, but you’ll likely bring
- Strong SQL skills across T-SQL and Postgre SQL
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS and Apache Airflow
- Experience with Python and Power Shell scripting
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server technologies including SSRS, SSMS and SSAS
- Experience developing Power BI semantic models and DAX
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Microsoft Fabric
- Experience working with ERP or finance systems, ideally Net Suite
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A passion for continuous improvement and emerging technologies
It would be great if you also have
- Experience with Oracle OBIEE or Essbase
- Exposure to AI tooling such as Claude Skills or similar technologies
- Experience contributing to data warehouse or data lake architecture
- Experience working within a finance or commercial data environment
