Impact you'll have

You will own a portfolio of HSS ProService Marketplace customers where you will be responsible for collecting monies owed in accordance with agreed payment terms. You will also monitor and manage customer credit limits in order to minimise bad debts, whilst maintaining positive relationships for HSS.

Typical day

  • Contact customers by telephone, email or letter regarding the collection of debt in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
  • Record all action taken on an account utilising the Debt Management system, following up calls and actions as agreed with the customer.
  • Work towards targets for cash collection to reduce outstanding debt exposure to the group.
  • Identify issues preventing payment to terms and ensure actions are in place to resolve. This will involve speaking to HSS depots and other HSS departments.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal colleagues to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Review customer accounts that are on stop due to unpaid invoices and/or breached credit limit and determining the appropriate decision that is in the best interests of HSS ProService Marketplace.
  • Recommending accounts to be referred for a legal collection process.
  • Represent the company and values of the business and portray a professional and business‑like image to all customers, potential customers and other people you meet in the course of your work.
