Monday – Friday 7am to 4pm and Alternative Saturday 8am to 1pm
As a Class 2 Delivery Driver
you will take responsibility for the safe and efficient transportation of equipment and materials and providing excellent customer service to every customer. You will manage deliveries to schedule, support colleagues, assist with loading and unloading, and contribute to the smooth operation of the depot. Your role is key in ensuring each delivery is completed safely, efficiently, and positively impact customer experiences.
What does the Class 2 Delivery Driver involve?
- Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to quality and reliability.
- Use company technology, such as smartphones and route planning tools, to record deliveries and manage schedules.
- Drive the company vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and the Highway Code, while completing regular vehicle checks to ensure it is roadworthy and well-maintained.
- Assist with loading and unloading the vehicle safely, securing goods appropriately, and using equipment and training provided.
- Act as a brand ambassador, upholding our company values and professionalism at all times.
- Support the smooth operation of your Central Hub by assisting with additional tasks such as stock movement and depot support when required.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers to resolve any delivery issues, provide updates, and ensure a seamless service experience.
- Follow health & safety procedures consistently to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
What do you need to succeed as a Class 2 Delivery Driver?
- A valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
- A valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) and digital tachograph card.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to manage and resolve complex customer enquiries professionally.
- Knowledge of safe loading, securing, and transporting of equipment and materials.
- Understanding of and compliance with manual handling regulations, using appropriate training and equipment provided.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to plan and follow delivery schedules efficiently.
- Ability to use technology, such as route planning software, GPS, and mobile apps, to log deliveries and monitor progress.
- Ability to collaborate with the depot and customer service colleagues.
- Flexibility to support additional tasks such as stock movement, depot assistance.
- You are flexible in driving a range of vehicles including 3.5t, 7.5t and Class 2.
- Commitment to health & safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and customers at all times.
