Apprentice Lifting Engineer
As an Apprentice Lifting Engineer, you’ll be trained to service, maintain, and repair our full range of hire equipment while working towards your Level 3 Lifting Apprenticeship. You’ll gain specialist skills in lifting, including carrying out inspections in line with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998), across our extensive range of lifting equipment.
Rotating Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8am – 4pm and Saturdays: 8am – 1pm
- Monday to Friday: 8am – 5pm
What you’ll be doing
- Servicing and repairing our full range of hire equipment and tools, ensuring quality, safety, reliability, and availability of stock.
- Supporting workshop productivity and efficiency in line with company targets.
- Identifying and reporting any product defects relating to health, safety, or reliability.
- Accurately maintaining service records on our internal systems (Spanner/DSP) and completing daily worksheets.
- Completing a two-year Apprenticeship, which includes one day per week of online learning with City of Bristol College (delivered via Microsoft Teams).
What you’ll need to succeed
- A genuine ambition to develop a career within mechanical and electrical engineering.
- A strong interest in lifting equipment and the wider specialist industry.
- A positive attitude with good problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
- Confidence using computer systems, with solid numerical ability.
- Experience in manual handling (desirable but not essential).
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent Functional Skills.
