About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Garment Technologist / Sample Machinist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, a passion for garment construction, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced fashion environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sewing first-fit garments and creating detailed specifications.
- Continuously identifying ways to improve garment construction for production efficiency while maintaining a high-quality finish.
- Managing priorities effectively to ensure all samples are completed on time.
- Measuring samples and thoroughly checking fit before sending to fittings.
- Ensuring sealed samples are accurate and production-ready.
- Creating clear and comprehensive make-up sheets for production.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience within high street fashion.
- Proficient in using lockstitch, overlock, and binding machines.
- Experience working with a wide range of fabrics, from stretch materials to silk.
- Strong understanding of fit, garment construction, and finishing techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of the production process.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, with the ability to use initiative and offer practical solutions.
- Positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
