A growing packaging and supply chain business is looking to recruit a commercially driven Inside Sales Representative to join its Sales & Operations team in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early sales or account management experience who enjoys building relationships, generating new business, and being involved in the operational side of customer delivery. The role combines outbound sales activity with operational sales support, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to develop a long-term commercial career. There is a clear progression path within the business for the right individual, alongside the opportunity to earn commission based on performance and account growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and cold call potential new customers
  • Build and manage a pipeline of smaller accounts
  • Qualify leads and nurture relationships through to repeat business
  • Quote and negotiate with customers professionally
  • Attend online customer meetings
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and weekly activity updates
  • Escalate larger commercial opportunities to Senior Sales Managers
  • Driving new business acquisition and account growth
  • Supporting the smooth delivery of customer orders and operational processes

Operations Support Responsibilities

  • Send order acknowledgements to customers
  • Coordinate deliveries and shipment notifications
  • Update CRM and internal systems with accurate order information
  • Communicate ETA updates and corrective actions where required
  • Support the wider Sales Operations team with administration

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 1–2 years’ experience in sales support, account management, business development, or similar
  • Confident making outbound cold calls
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commercially aware and customer-focused
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and driven to succeed

Desirable

  • Experience within packaging, FMCG, logistics, or supply chain environments
  • CRM experience (Salesforce or similar)
  • Knowledge of warehouse or operational systems
  • Experience in food-grade or BRC-accredited environments
