Our client, a well-established and growing business within the fabrication and steel sector, is currently seeking a Design Engineer to join their team at their Hinckley distribution centre. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in mechanical or manufacturing engineering and experience using SolidWorks. You’ll play a key role in turning ideas into practical, production-ready designs.
Hours: Monday to Friday - 8am - 16.30pm
Salary: £29K to £30K dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Working as part of the design team
- Propose ideas for product design creation
- Produce 3D models & drawings for customer approval (Solidworks)
- Progress approved designs into production (DXF files for laser cutting)
- Be able to liaise with other departments to deal with enquiries efficiently and successfully
- Report directly to the Production Office Supervisor
- Management of all processes in accordance with issued procedures
- Ensure compliance of any activities to General Data Protection Regulation so that those activities are performed in accordance with approved internal policies and procedures including but not limiting to Data Protection Policy
Key Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Mechanical / sheet metal / manufacturing background
- Good communication and writing skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organised
- Health and safety conscious
- Solidworks / Excel / Radan experience
- Good time keeping and attendance
