Overview
Reporting to the Regional Director, the Service Delivery Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the Service Delivery Supervisors and the wider operational team across regional and national contracts. This is a fully non-productive role focused on driving operational performance, service delivery standards, and continuous improvement. The role requires ensuring all activities are delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently, while maximising resource utilisation and profitability. The manager takes ownership of performance analysis using Power BI and other reporting tools to evaluate operational outputs, identify trends, and implement data-driven improvements, acting as the key interface between regional teams and Scheduling Team Leaders to resolve systemic issues and improve overall delivery efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provide full oversight of performance across all contracts, ensuring compliance with company procedures, client specifications, and relevant legislation (e.g., ACOP L8, HSG274).
- Monitor and evaluate contractual KPIs, ensuring Service Delivery Supervisors are effectively managing delivery and addressing any performance gaps.
- Oversee regional resource performance, ensuring utilisation and productivity targets are met by monitoring job completion rates and visit outcomes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Scheduling Team Leaders to align planned and delivered activities, resolving issues related to work allocation and access constraints.
- Take ownership of data accuracy within operational systems, ensuring asset data and call tasks are correct to support reliable scheduling and reporting.
- Lead all aspects of people management, including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes.
- Drive a high-performance culture through staff coaching, training, and competency assessments, ensuring robust succession plans are in place for future growth.
- Ensure all teams are equipped with necessary resources and PPE to perform their roles safely and to the highest professional standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing operational teams within a water hygiene, water compliance, or similar field-based service environment.
- Demonstrable experience leading performance management, including handling underperformance and disciplinary processes.
- Experience driving operational efficiency, utilisation, and KPI performance across multiple contracts or regions.
- A strong background in working with scheduling/planning functions to optimise service delivery and a solid understanding of resource utilisation principles.
- Advanced analytical skills with the experience using data tools (e.g., Power BI) to interpret trends, identify data inaccuracies, and implement improvements.
- Strong knowledge of ACOP L8, HSG274, and (where applicable) HTM04-01 guidance.
- A proactive, solution-oriented leader with high attention to detail and a commitment to professional, supportive leadership.
