Join HSL Compliance as an HR Advisor. Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? We are looking for a proactive and professional HR Advisor to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering a high-quality HR service to managers and employees across the organisation, ensuring best practice and compliance with HSL procedures, policies and employment legislation. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive HR team, where you will provide expert guidance, support employee development and contribute to a wide range of HR initiatives that help drive the business forward.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as a source of HR expertise, providing advice, information and practical support to line managers and employees in line with HR policies, legislation and best practice.
- Provide guidance to managers on employee relations issues, supporting early and informal resolution wherever possible.
- Support line managers with sickness absence management, including monitoring absence triggers, ensuring return-to-work interviews are completed and liaising with the Occupational Health provider.
- Assist with the recruitment and selection process, supporting managers to make effective hiring decisions using appropriate techniques and processes.
- Maintain and develop HR systems, producing management information and workforce reports with analysis and benchmarking where required.
- Support the HR Business Partner and HR Assistant with monthly payroll checks, ensuring all changes are communicated to the payroll team and documentation is accurate and recorded.
- Work collaboratively with the HR team to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of HR services.
- Contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of HR projects and wider organisational projects requiring HR input.
- Ensure employee and management information, records and documentation are accurately maintained and reports are produced within required deadlines.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with HR stakeholders across the organisation.
- Support the management of contracts and supplier relationships, including recruitment agencies.
- Assist with the performance review process, ensuring consistency and identifying any emerging issues.
- Support learning and development initiatives, including delivering HR-related training for managers when required.
- Conduct research into HR trends and best practice, making recommendations for improvements.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- 3-4 years’ experience working in an HR environment
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to influence, coach and support managers effectively
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and reporting skills
- Effective problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills
- Strong HR systems and Microsoft Office skills
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards)
