Reporting to the General Manager, the Compliance & HSEQ Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all HSEQ activities across HSL Compliance and Enitial. You will ensure total regulatory adherence and the successful maintenance of external accreditations while playing a critical role in the strategic integration of Enitial into the wider HSL Group. You will act as the guardian of our standards, ensuring that as we grow and integrate, our commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship remains world-class. This role requires a balance of high-level strategic planning and hands‐on coaching to drive standardised processes across a diverse and scaling business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve robust HSEQ policies and systems, ensuring full alignment with HSE, Environment Agency, and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead the management of all external accreditations, ensuring certifications are consistently achieved, maintained, and renewed across the organisation.
- Oversee the compliance elements of integrating Enitial into the HSL Group, working closely with the General Manager to harmonise processes and elevate standards.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across all business activities, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.
- Monitor and report on HSEQ KPIs, implementing swift corrective actions and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement where gaps are identified.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, clients, and internal/external stakeholders on all compliance-related matters.
- Build influential relationships with the Senior Management Team and line managers, providing expert guidance, coaching, and support to advance operational and people objectives.
- Manage internal and external audit schedules, ensuring the business remains 'audit-ready' at all times through rigorous governance and documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) management systems within a complex or high‐growth environment.
- NEBOSH Certificate is a minimum requirement; higher‐level qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma or GradIOSH) are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to implement and align systems across diverse working activities, ideally during a period of business integration or merger.
- Deep understanding of current HSE and Environment Agency regulations and a track record of maintaining ISO or similar industry‐specific accreditations.
- A solution‐oriented leader with the ability to balance strict regulatory requirements with the practical needs of the business.
- The ability to manage your own workload and shift priorities in response to changing demands while maintaining high attention to detail.
- A full driving license and the ability to travel to various HSL and Enitial locations as required.
