Reporting to the Area Manager, the Environmental Technician will deliver routine monitoring cross‑functionally across our Water, Construction, and Compliance service areas. This is a predominantly site‑based role designed for those who have a passion for the outdoors and a desire to build a technical career in environmental services. You will play a vital role in ensuring environmental safety and compliance by conducting routine checks, maintaining client infrastructure, and managing data with high levels of accuracy. This position offers a clear development pathway, where you will be encouraged to specialise and progress toward a Senior Technician role through extensive on‑site training and exposure.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct routine monitoring across Water, Construction, and Compliance sectors in accordance with company protocols and client specifications.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on environmental control systems and client infrastructure to ensure continuous operation.
- Act as the face of Enitial in the field, building trust with clients on‑site and maintaining a professional, reliable image at all times.
- Responsible for the calibration and maintenance of company equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are kept in line with quality assurance requirements.
- Accurately manage and report field data to Data Analysts.
- Identify and report any deviations or non‑conformances that could impact data quality.
- Review your own schedules and work closely with the Scheduling team to identify ways to conduct field works more effectively.
- Keep safety at the forefront of all field works, proactively reporting near‑misses or accidents and remaining compliant with the ‘Stay Safe’ remote working application.
- Collaborate with your regional team to maintain morale and assist with the on‑site training and onboarding of new employees.
- Identify potential works on‑site that could benefit the client and provide commercial opportunities for the business.
What We’re Looking For
- A BSc or Higher Education certificate in a relevant environmental/academic field, or equivalent industry experience.
- A genuine desire to work outdoors in all conditions and a proactive, hands‑on approach to field work.
- An effective communicator who can build relationships with clients and report technical issues clearly to the management team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage data accurately.
- A full, clean British Driving Licence is essential for this regional role.
- An excellent team player who is equally comfortable working alone and using their initiative to solve problems.
- Desirable: Emergency First Aid certification, relevant industry cards (CSCS, MPQC), or membership in a professional industry body.
