Enitial (part of HSL Compliance) is the UK’s leading provider of independent field monitoring and sampling services. With a highly skilled team of 80 technicians acting as the ‘boots on the ground,’ we provide specialist support for major industrial and environmental projects across the UK. We have an exciting opportunity for two Environmental Monitoring Technicians to join our team in the West Midlands. These roles are primarily dedicated to a prestigious, long-term national infrastructure project, offering the chance to work on one of the most significant construction developments in the UK.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine environmental monitoring and sampling in strict accordance with company protocols, quality assurance standards, and client contract specifications.
- Lead specific project elements and liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, and Data Analysts to ensure work is implemented professionally and in line with British guidance.
- Accurately capture and manage field data, ensuring it is reported to Data Analysts in the correct format and within required timeframes to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Keep safety at the absolute forefront of all field work.
- Proactively report accidents and near misses to the Project Manager and client in line with company accreditation and policy.
- Liaise with laboratories and couriers to ensure that all environmental samples taken in the field remain compliant and viable during transit.
- Provide a reliable and professional interface between Enitial and the client, ensuring all site-based services promote the Enitial brand through excellence.
- Assist with the on-site training of new employees, providing proactive support to ensure their introduction to the project is engaging and inspiring.
- Maintain routine company administration, including weekly vehicle checks and expense reporting through central systems.
What We’re Looking For:
- Ideally, experience of field-based environmental testing experience or specialist project service experience.
- A scientific degree (Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, etc.) is preferred, though equivalent industry experience will be highly valued.
- You must hold a Full UK Driving License.
- A CSCS or SSSTS card is preferred, though we are happy to support the right candidate in working towards these.
- The role requires a Safety-critical medical certificate (which we will provide) and the ability to pass the client’s stringent onboarding and competency processes.
- You must be comfortable working in a site-based environment, often in challenging weather conditions, with a proactive "can-do" attitude.
- A proven track record in teamwork and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders on large-scale construction sites.
