Department: Manufacturing - Cutting and Sewing
Hours of work: 39 hours per week (Monday - Thursday; 4 days)
Reporting to: Production Manager
Main Purpose of role: Working as part of a Manufacturing Team that delivers comfort solutions through a range of quality furniture products. The Cutter, reporting to the Upholstery Supervisor, is responsible for fabric preparation (pre‑sewing) and the use and maintenance of automatic cutting machinery, ensuring production targets and deadlines are met and outputs meet quality standards and product specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide good quality work to meet company standards.
- Operate CNC fabric cutting machines, ensuring they are set up correctly and functioning efficiently.
- Prepare and machine‑cut a range of fabrics for furniture products to a high quality meeting agreed company targets.
- Load and unload fabric rolls or sheets onto the cutting machine, ensuring proper alignment and tension.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Comply with Health and Safety procedures as set out in the company’s policy.
- Maintain good housekeeping at all times.
- Support overtime within the business when needed.
