Job Purpose:
As a Business Development Manager, you will be 100% focused on new business. You will connect innovative technology companies with the intelligence and insights from HSJ, which they need to support the NHS. By building trusted partnerships with senior decision-makers, you will ensure these vital suppliers have access to HSJ's expert analysis and sector intelligence, empowering them to navigate NHS complexities, understand evolving healthcare priorities, strengthen their NHS relationships, and make more informed strategic decisions to help contribute to creating better solutions that improve patient care.
Sales Performance:
- Meet and exceed sales targets for new business within the technology sector
- Own the complete sales cycle from prospecting to closing the deal and handover to account management team
- Identify and engage with senior decision makers within the technology sector
- Design and deliver a sector sales plan
- Develop and maintain opportunity pipeline within business expectations
- Deliver demonstrations of HSJ subscription products with value led proposals
- Design and deliver multichannel communication plans to maintain consistent utilisation of social media (especially LinkedIn)
- Keep up-to-date with clients' products, strategic priorities and market changes within the technology sector
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Support Marketing on marketing initiatives to grow the technology sector
- Utilise the editorial expertise to support customer discussions
- Collaborate with Product teams to provide sector insights and feedback
- Effective management of all internal stakeholders to support customers
- Act as the voice for your customers internally
Performance Management:
- Track and report sales KPIs and sector performance
- Provide detailed forecasting
Expertise & Development:
- Maintain extensive knowledge of HSJ subscription portfolio
- Share best practices and support their development
- Attend relevant events within the healthcare sector
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years' B2B sales experience
- Proven track record generating new business in B2B sales
- Articulate, credible and inquisitive when presenting at a senior level
- Understanding of B2B subscription models
- Experience working with Marketing, Customer Success, Editorial and Product teams
- CRM proficiency (Salesforce, MS Dynamics, or similar)
