The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 ÂŁ per year.

You’ll be responsible for generating both new and repeat business, working with NHS suppliers who want to reach senior NHS decision‑makers, including Heads of Business Development and Heads of Marketing. Adopting a consultative sales approach, you’ll develop a deep understanding of customer objectives and translate these into tailored commercial solutions across our 4 Awards programmes, 9 flagship Events, and a wider portfolio including webinars, roundtables, thought leadership and online advertising.

With deal values typically ranging from £5k to £80k, you’ll have clear ownership of sales targets and the autonomy to build and execute effective sales strategies within your market sector. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to identify growth opportunities, deliver against targets, and build lasting, high‑value partnerships. This is a full‑time hybrid role, with two days per week in our Aldgate, London office and flexibility to work from home.

What HSJ we are looking for:
  • Proven experience in new business development and lead generation, with a strong track record of securing event sponsorship partners.
  • Demonstrable success in renewing and growing a portfolio of high‑value accounts.
  • Solid experience or strong knowledge of the UK healthcare sector, with familiarity with NHS structures and decision‑making highly advantageous.
  • Strong commercial and business planning capability, with the ability to develop and execute effective growth strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with confidence influencing senior stakeholders.
  • A hunter mindset combined with a growth‑oriented, proactive approach to sales activity.
  • Consistent achievement of sales targets and KPIs across monthly, quarterly and annual cycles.
