HSE Recruitment Network are working with a manufacturing business in Rotherham to find them a new HSE Advisor. This role will work under the HSEQ Manager and alongside a wider team of 5 who are based across multiple sites. The site in Rotherham is a relatively new facility and has the headcount of around 100 people. The role is based here but will have occasional travel to site projects once a month.
Role overview: This role is responsible for leading in the development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of health, safety and environmental (HSE) management systems, processes and procedures including occupational hygiene controls and standards. The HSE Advisor is also responsible for reviewing the effectiveness of and compliance with HSE management systems, conducting and reviewing risk assessments including the effectiveness of current control measures. The position will also be responsible for assisting in the organisation and provision of HSE training. Driving and improving workplace behaviour and culture is also a key part of this role. This role has ownership for the HSE roadmap for the year which is focused on improvement activities. Things aren’t broken but there is work to do on the culture around shop floor leadership and supervisors.
What we are looking for:
- Ideally experience as a HSE Advisor within a manufacturing business
- NEBOSH Certificate level qualifications
- Trained internal auditor and/or Environmental qualification would be desirable
- Comfortable communicating and influencing orally and written at all levels
- Strong organisational and decision-making skills
- Must be innovative and able to think laterally
- Able to work to and deliver against agreed targets and timescales
- Mature and pragmatic
- Resilience, drive, determination, self-motivation
- Confident and assertive
