HSE Recruitment are working for an established manufacturing and engineering business who are looking for a HSE Manager at their site in Sheffield. There has been positive change in the business in the last few years, reaffirming their presence in their core markets as well as branching into new growth markets, all supported by a strategic plan.
The role is HSE but will be 90% health and safety focused and 10% environmental. There are fundamentals in place; they understand hazards and control the risks; they have got ISO 45001 and 14001 and there are established committee meetings, to name a few.
What we need you to focus on is improving the culture and accountability, someone who will own safety, who will challenge the leadership but also support them in understanding how strong safety performance feeds into everything they do. This is going to be a hands-on visible role suited to someone who is confident, credible and who can engage.
What we are looking for:
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) level as a minimum.
- We are open to an established HSE Manager or an experienced HSE Advisor.
- A background in manufacturing or engineering is essential.
- Experience managing ISO 45001 and 14001.
- Demonstrable experience of changing health and safety culture and performance.
The salary on offer is £50,000-60,000 + package. You will be based on site every day, 37 working hours per week: Monday-Thursday 07:45 - 16:15 and Friday 07:45 - 12:45.
The interview process will be two stages, both in person on site.
