Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days in office)

I am currently supporting a Global Impact Infrastructure Investor operating within the sustainable infrastructure sector as they look to appoint a

Senior Environmental Consultant on a

12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

This role will provide a strong opportunity for someone with a strong background in

Environmental & Social Due Diligence who enjoys influencing investment decisions and working on complex international infrastructure projects across Asia and Africa.

The Role

  • Lead Environmental, Health, Safety & Social (HSES) due diligence on new investments.
  • Review environmental and social risks, identifying issues early in the project lifecycle.
  • Develop HSES recommendations, action plans and management documentation.
  • Support HSES assurance, compliance and implementation across a diverse project portfolio.
  • Provide technical expertise on environmental, social and human rights risks, including modern slavery, child labour and safeguarding.
  • Support HSES audits, reporting, continuous improvement and the delivery of the organisation's long-term sustainability strategy.
  • Deliver HSES guidance and training to internal teams and project stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering Environmental & Social Due Diligence within infrastructure, ESG, impact investment or consultancy.
  • Strong report writing and risk assessment skills.
  • Experience reviewing Environmental & Social Management Systems (ESMS).
  • The ability to work independently and confidently influence investment decisions.
  • Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles or Human Rights frameworks is advantageous.
