Are you interested in working for a company who lead health and safety from the top, where you can put your own stamp on safety and make a positive impact? Who expect their senior leadership team to keep one hand on the operational work as well as lead the strategy and direction? If so, this role could be for you!
Currently recruiting for an interim HSE Manager to cover the UK sites on behalf of a large food manufacturing business, whilst they recruit the permanent counterpart. You will be the most senior HSE professional for the UK, heading up the centralised function with responsibility for 7 sites with a headcount of just over 400 people. Coaching and mentoring one direct report, supporting their development.
To create and drive the Health and Safety strategy, to communicate it effectively at all levels and remain a hands-on, visible leader, who will lead by example, bring a positive, energetic approach to the business and who can empower the sites.
We require someone who is commutable to Northamptonshire, where 3/7 sites are located and someone who is able to travel approx. 4 days a week, in particular to a site in the North West. The role will be 80% H&S and 20% Environmental but as environmental and sustainability continues to become more important, this part of the role will likely increase.
What we are looking for:
- Someone who is still confident in an operational, hands-on capacity and is willing to roll their sleeves up.
- You must however be equally able to engage, gain buy-in, influence and convey the HSEQ message to the SLT.
- This credibility to communicate across all levels is essential for the role.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) level qualification.
- FMCG experience is desirable but the client will look to wider regulated manufacturing experience to be also included.
- Environmental Sustainability knowledge is preferred.
- Prior management experience of multiple sites in a similar level role.
- Local to Corby.
Day rate on offer is £500 per day (DOE), this will be a 3 month contract initially which may be extended.
